Honey

There are many types of honey.  Every flower has a different color & flavor of nectar;  therefore there are as many types of honey as there are flowers!

Honey is made from moisture reduced nectar collected by the bee and  is processed by moving nectar from cell to cell inside the hive until it is evaporated to 18-20% of its original 80% moisture content.  It takes about 37,000 flights by the bees to collect one pound of honey!

Honey contains no fat and is a nutritious natural sweetener.  Honey sugars are mainly levulose and dextrose fruit sugar’s which are easily absorbed into the blood stream for instant energy.

Honey can be purchased in a number of ways.  For best health results unpasturized honey is the best either liquid or crystallized.  Unpasturized honey will crystallize in time this is its natural way of preserving itself.  To re-liquefy put container in a pan of warm water, or place in a warm sunny window (placing in a micro-wave for a 10 seconds at a time & repeating until crystals melt will also work, but is not a preferred method).

Pollen

Pollen is collected from flowers by bees.  It is used in the hive for food and in beeswax production.  Pollen contains all the essential nutrients that the human body needs to stay healthy!   Within each granule of pollen are amino acids, vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, fatty acids, and enzymes.  Each ounce of pollen is 90 calories, 7 grams carbohydrate, 15% lecithin, the entire B complex and 25% protein.  Pollen is used as a natural vitamin substitute, it has helped many people with low energy, ADD, disease and aging.

There are a few way to take pollen.  The best way for it to assimilate into the blood steam is to mix it one part pollen to four parts water (ie. 1 tsp. to 1 tbsp.) let the mixture stand over night and then drink it in the morning mixed with juice or on its own.  Chew the mixture well before swallowing to encourage digestion.  The second way is to take 1/4 – 1 tsp.  or more a day chewed slowly in the mouth before meals or anytime that an energy boost is needed.  A third way is to add pollen to other foods.  Sprinkled onto cereal or in fruit smoothies is a great way to eat it.

Propolis

Propolis is the sap and resin from pine and balsa trees that bees collect mixed with wax flakes and used in the hive to create a sterile and safe environment.  Propolis has anti-bacterial qualities, anti-inflammatory qualities, anti-biotic qualities and anti-fungal qualities.  It is an all around great healer!  Suffers of colds, digestive trouble, low energy, arthritis, bronchitis, allergies and more have found health by using propolis.

Propolis can be purchased in two forms.  One is in its raw state.  It can be chewed to relieve soar throats and digestive tracks.  The other way to take propolis is to use a tincture.  There are different grades of tincture – depending on how much alcohol it is mix with (15%, 30% etc.).

The best way to take propolis is to use put a little water in the mouth then squeeze out one dropper full.  Chew the mixture in the mouth before slowly swallowing – this will allow the digestive enzymes to start working.  It is good to take propolis at least once a day to boost the immune system and heal internal organs.  If health is

Royal Jelly

Royal jelly is an amazing product from the bee hive.  It is made be nurse bees and is the Queen’s food through - out her life span.  It contains a complex mix of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, proteins, sugars and even DNA.  It has a tart citrus flavor,  and a creamy consistency and

yellow color.

Royal Jelly is the hormone rich food which gives the Queen her ability to live 3 – 4 years while laying close to 2,000 eggs a day!

Humans can use royal jelly to help with a number of health problems.  Individuals suffering from heart disease, Parkinson’s disease, anorexia nervosa, and symptoms of old age have found great differences in their health upon taking royal jelly.

Because of royal jellies potency it is recommended to consume only 1/8 to a 1 / 4  tsp. a day taken into the mouth, under the tongue.  Leave it there to dissolve into the blood stream.  Chew thoroughly and swallow if leaving it under the tongue is not possible.  Doing this every morning before food is the best.
